The Honorable Sufi Halimah Qadria was born in 1947 and grew up as a Christian in a family very dedicated to Christianity. At a very young age, she became aware of Almighty God’s presence in everything around her and accepted Islam at the age of twenty-five. Sufi Halimah Qadria (may God be pleased with her), in her own words:

“Since early childhood I have been conscious of a Supreme Being. I would look up at the sky and wonder if the Creator was looking at me…Even at that young age, if ever I did something I believed wrong, I would beg for forgiveness from God Almighty and to be absolved of all my sins.”

Honorable Halimah became a sufi student of El Sheikh Syed Mubarik Ali Shah Gilani where she became deeply interested in commemorating Almighty God’s name and developed a deeper love for her Creator, then expressed her love in the most beautiful manner in her psalms, which some may call poetry. However, poetry cannot be compared with psalms because a poet has very limited power of expression. Initially, he imagines something then tries to express it in any kind of rhythm or form he chooses. They are not inspired to write their poetry, whereas psalms are direct inspirations from God, and contain nothing but glorifications and adoration onto Him showing immense gratitude , humbleness and thanking Him for all favors He has bestowed upon the world and to the one who’s glorifying Him. Her psalms provoke an immense powerful feeling of wanting to be one with her Lord, The Creator of Heaven and Earth.

Honorable Halimah was diagnosed with terminal cancer and has departed this earthly world. She leaves for all the book American Psalms, which contains a portion of the thirty-six years of her original divinely inspired works.
